The visit to Manchester United has undoubtedly been one of the highlights of the tour. Peter Draper (Marketing Director of Man-U) was exceptionally enthused to educate the tour group on the company's core marketing functions. Throughout 3 hours of discussion time we discovered that Manchester United have two major sponsors - Umbro and Vodafone. However, the company has recently signed a 13 year contract with Nike which will prospectively take the Manchester United brand into new markets.

Peter also mentioned that the company has divided its business into 3 core areas:

  • Stadium business
  • Media
  • Product & Services.

In the company, each business is run as a separate entity - all focused on sustaining the brand. In the future, Man-U aims to improve the communication with their fans and increase brand awareness on a worldwide scale.
