New York

Frank Sinatra once said “New York, New York - that's my kinda town”. And he was right! The Big Apple is a fast paced buzzing city, yet it was the coldest destination we visited. Thermals, gloves, ear muffs, beanies were all must have items when trekking through New York's logically structured streets and avenues.
A MIMSP's endorsed hotel, The Gershwin, is a perfect place to stay for any art or creative orientated person and houses artworks from Andy Warhol and other eclectic pop artists. The many day time activities we did during our New York stay included visiting Time Square, The Rockefeller Centre, Central Park, the world's largest Apple Macintosh Store, Heath Ledger's house (it was popular site for the paparazzi at the time) and the famous giant green lady herself - The Statue of Liberty. As for nightly entertainment, the group went to see the New York Knicks defeat the Philadelphia 76er's at Madison Square Garden and watched RENT the musical on 41st Street. A good restaurant to dine in was Bubble Gump (inspired from the well known movie Forrest Gump). American Entrees can be easily classed as main meals in Australia, so one must choose carefully!
Our company visits in New York involved meeting with David Toleman (previously a Monash lecturer) who works for Options Marketing Technology and Music Television (MTV) at Time Square. David shared his knowledge on how to turn marketing theory into practice and what is it like to work in an office as a sole marketer. MTV on the other hand show cased their current TV project with HP Computers and explained the role of sponsorship. It was clear from this visit that MTV  put so much hard work into trying to blend their brand themes with HP's together.
Like the previous cities we visited, we engaged in some serious retail therapy in NYC! Shopping destinations included 5th Avenue, Time Square, Soho, and Woodbury Common (which is technically in New Jersey). At Woodbury Common, the big ticket store to visit was a leather store which sold genuine leather pieces for at least 80% off what you would pay in Australia!! New York City was our final destination on our MIMSP tour and the best possible place I could think of to cap off our whirlwind global adventure!!
