However, campanies that apply 'Lean Thinking' practices typically weather the storm with much more resilience, by reducing their initial costs and capturing business from their competitors.

Design Victoria aims to inspire retailers to look at their business differently, through best design practice in merchandising, shop fitting and interior design business activities. It is said that customers remember 5 per cent of what they read, 10 per cent of what they hear and 25 per cent of what they see. A good proportion of the experience customers seek is influenced by visual factors - store design and how products and goods are merchandised.

Carbon Trading and how it will impact small to medium businesses. Paris Nichols joined the EPA's climate change policy team in 2005, and has worked on a number of projects since then, including: Greenhouse Gas Reporting and Disclosure; Carbon Neutrality; Guidance on Carbon Offsets; and more recently re-developing EPA's Greenhouse Calculator.
