Back to Caulfield

Prominent figures from bygone eras of Caulfield campus’ history in the business disciplines returned to the faculty on the 15 June 2005 to celebrate the past and help shape the future.

The historic occasion saw former deans, department heads and long-serving administrative staff from Caulfield Institute and Chisholm Institute return to the faculty for a night of reminiscences over the David Syme Business School days.

The first dean of the David Syme Business School, Dr John Miller AO, along with Deputy Chancellor and Monash marketing alumnus, Paul Ramler AM entertained guests with a few lively stories from the past.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Richard Larkins and Business and Economics Dean, Professor Gill Palmer spoke of their respective visions for the university and the faculty and the ‘Back to Caulfield campus’ reunion that will be held on 15 November for all past students and staff.

Initiated by Campus Academic Director, Professor Rob Willis, the ‘Back to Caulfield campus’ event is the first step in re-uniting with staff and student alumni from Chisholm and Caulfield Institutes.

The November event will include an official welcome, a pictorial history of the growth of education on this campus, campus tours and a chance to catch up with different decades of staff and students.

If you were part of these earlier days of the Faculty of Business and Economics, our Alumni Coordinator, Linda Carpenter is compiling a staff alumni mailing list and would like to hear from you Linda.carpenter@buseco.monash.edu.au
