VC thanks BusEco administrators
The Vice-Chancellor has expressed his appreciation for the work done by the faculty’s student services and timetabling administrators who recently had to process more than 250 applications for late enrolment for this semester. This necessitated programming an additional 1024 individual unit enrolments.
The increased number of late enrolments added a complexity to the workload associated with the significant increase in the total number of midyear enrolments compared to previous years. Together, these events have led to staff working long hours to help students facing long queues and timetable difficulties.
Rooms had to be rescheduled and students had to be advised on alternative programs. The Dean said that academic staff will also be affected as the necessary changes in rooms and unit delivery are still to be sorted out.
Professor Palmer asked everybody to be patient as these issues emerge and are resolved. Many people in the faculty, in International Admissions and in central student administration are working together to improve our international enrolment system.
The Dean is working closely with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor International, Professor Stephanie Fahey and the Deputy Vice-President Advancement, Lee-Anne Norris, to re-engineer procedures to avoid a recurrence of this situation in the future.
