Brett Inder awarded Vice-Chancellor’s Equity and Diversity Award
Professor Brett Inder, Head of the Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics has received a Vice-Chancellor's Equity and Diversity Award for 2008.
The Vice-Chancellor, in conjunction with the Equity and Diversity Centre, acknowledges and recognises those who have made a significant contribution to the enhancement of equity and diversity at Monash University.
Professor Inder has contributed in many facets and over many years to the enhancement of equity and diversity principles in areas including data analysis on equity issues at Monash.
These issues include chairing the Inclusive Practices and Workplace Equity Committee; serving as a mentor for both male and female staff; his personal actions at Monash and volunteer work outside the University.
His academic research also addresses issues directly related to equity and diversity concerns, such as studies into labour markets and rural-urban migration in South Africa, as well as the effect of the 2004 Asian tsunami on children in Sri Lanka.
