Department of Marketing ranks in top ten worldwide

In a recent review of advertising research productivity the Department of Marketing at Monash University was ranked ninth in the world on publications in the top three US advertising journals.

In this review the second best department of marketing in Australia is Curtin University, ranked 61st, followed by UNSW, UQ and the University of Adelaide.

The same review also looked at productivity of individual researchers and the head of the Department, Professor Mike Ewing, was deemed the second most productive author in advertising research worldwide. 

The review was published in one the leading advertising journals, the Journal of Advertising. This publication  together with the Journal of Advertising Research and the International Journal of Advertising Research have the largest exposure to international advertising researchers and reflect the state-of-the-art in international advertising research.

Professor Ewing has also recently been elected a governor of the Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) which promotes marketing as an academic discipline.  He is only the second Australian ever appointed to the Board of Governors of the Academy, a prestigious international association for marketing academics.
