Donald Cochrane PhD Scholarship
Created to honour the foundation dean of the Faculty of Economics and Politics at Monash University, the Donald Cochrane PhD Scholarship was established in 2006. Offered to the most outstanding graduate scholar within the faculty, it commemorates Donald Cochrane’s inspirational example of scholarly excellence and commitment to the betterment of our society. The scholarship allows for a three-year stipend of $28,000 p.a. (indexed against inflation), along with a research allowance of up to $1500 p.a. The generous stipend enables the candidate to concentrate full-time on their PhD study.
The family of the late Professor Cochrane has generously funded this award to be endowed every second year. The faculty has launched a campaign appeal to make this scholarship an annual ongoing award for our highest achieving faculty scholarship applicant. We hope you will consider helping us support and promote scholars with exceptional potential by contributing to this very worthy scholarship fund.
