Educator of the Year Award for Management academic
Ms Nell Kimberley from the Department of Management was awarded the 'Pearson Education ANZAM Management Educator of the year Award for 2007' in recognition of teaching excellence.
The award of $3,000 and a plaque was presented to Nell at the annual Australian and New Zealand Management (ANZAM) conference, held in Sydney at the end of last year.
Nell has been invited to present a Master Class at the ANZAM 2008 Conference at the end of the year in Auckland for which she will receive an additional sponsorship of $2,500.
Nell’s teaching commitments include managing in a changing environment, managerial communication and managing people at work.
At the same conference Daniel Prajogo and Brian Cooper won the Technology, Quality and Operations Management Stream Award for their paper on "The Effect of People-Related TQM Practices on Job Satisfaction".
Dennis Appo & Charmine Härtel’s paper entitled "The Use Of Power in Aboriginal Organisations" won the Organisational Behaviour Stream Award.
Dennis heads the Indigenous Business Development and Mentoring research program within SEIRnet - a research centre located in the Department of Management.
ANZAM is the peak professional body for management educators, researchers and practitioners in Australia and New Zealand, with more than 500 individual members and 50 institutional members.
Associate Professor Alison Sheridan President of ANZAM said the highly prestigious and competitive Awards attracted more than four hundred papers from academics around the world.
