Accounting Executive program keeps China Civil Aviation flying
The Department of Accounting and Finance recently delivered its fifth Executive Development Program for the China Association of Chief Financial Executives-Civil Aviation Branch (CCAA). The department has been working with the CCAA on up-skilling its finance executives since 2006 and this program saw 16 delegates undertake three days of intensive training in the subject areas of Corporate Governance, Financial Management Framework and Risk Management.
The program was held at the Caulfield campus and included delivery by department academics plus an airline industry practitioner with experience as a senior finance executive for a number of major airlines including Qantas and Air New Zealand.
The participants from China work in the aviation sectors of airlines, airports and air traffic control. They found the combination of theoretical and applied knowledge ideal for future application in a developing and dynamic Chinese Aviation industry.
The department of Accounting and Finance is now preparing for the delivery of a second program to a new group of participants from the CCAA later this year.
