Get involved in Australia 2020 Summit

The Wisdom of Oz, website has been launched to give all Australians a convenient method of participating in a nationwide discussion on the Australia 2020 Summit issues.

Wisdom of Oz is a unique collaboration between Brandaide Communications and Monash University’s Faculty of Business and Economics’ Social and Economic Interface Research Network (SEIRnet), which brings unmatched analytical and research credentials as well as governance and ethical controls to the online consultation environment.

Professor Charmine Härtel from Monash University’s SEIRnet said, ‘Unlike blogs and social networking sites that generate data without insight, the Wisdom of Oz uses specialised analysis tools and algorithms to identify the real issues that are critical to all Australians’.

The Wisdom of Oz will allow people to:

  • Post their suggestions on any of the 10 future challenges identified by the Government
  • Comment on the suggestions of others
  • Start ‘Open Talk’ on topics not included by the Government in their 10 future challenges

All posts will be considered on their merits, and there will be no editing of critical comments. Forum Rules set the framework for what is acceptable online behaviour and language.

Guy Carvalho, CEO of Brandaide Communications, which manages Wisdom of Oz, said ‘Unlike the Federal Government’s ‘email us’ style of feedback, our online community allows all submissions to be viewed by anyone for comment, agreement, disagreement or enhancement.’

‘Wisdom of Oz facilitates many-to-many dialogue, rather than one way chatter, and is an open and transparent process’, Mr Carvalho said.

Together, we will collect people’s ideas, comments and insights from the Wisdom of Oz, and submit these to the Federal Government.
