School of Business Malaysia presents budget seminar

The School of Business, Monash University Sunway campus is organising an exclusive One-Day Budget Seminar to provide a broad overview of the various new tax provisions and their impact on the business community in Malaysia as well as the public.

The seminar will highlight recent case law, tax developments as well as public rulings introduced during the year. A panel of distinguished tax experts will deliberate on the main tax, commercial as well social implications of the 2009 budget on the business community. These experts will provide advice on how businesses can benefit from the tax measures and take advantage of incentives that are available for foreign and local investors.

The one-day seminar also affords the business community ample opportunities to clear any doubts on the tax changes as well as provide valuable insights on how firms can leverage on the various planning opportunities offered by the new budget initiatives.

A senior tax executive from Kuala Lumpur Mr Thanneermalai will deliver a paper on "Tax Issues Involving Planning for Outbound Investments" while Dr Veerinderjeet Shingh, President of the Malaysian Institute of Taxation will present a paper on "Tax Reforms, Simplification & Service Delivery".
