Mike Ewing only second Australian to be bestowed this honour
Professor Mike Ewing, head of the Department of Marketing is only the second Australian ever to be appointed to the Board of Governors of the Academy of Marketing Science.
Mike follows in the footsteps of his colleague Associate Professor Ken Grant. They are the only two Australians to have co-chaired the only AMS World Marketing Congresses ever held in Australia. Ken chaired the conference in Melbourne in 1995 and Mike the conference held in Perth in 2003.
Ken was Governor of the Academy from 1999 to 2001 and was made a distinguished fellow in 1998. Mike’s term as Governor is from 2008 to 2012. Candidates for the Board of Governors are invited to nominate and then a worldwide election of members is held.
