Kevin Tant rewarded for Outstanding Contribution to student learning

Kevin Tant from Accounting and Finance is one of seven Monash staff members to be awarded a 2008 Australian Learning and Teaching Council Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning.

Kevin was cited for his project which used technology to teach theory and provide a practical link to industry.

"It is wonderful to be able to demonstrate to students that what they have previously learned, and will learn in later studies, has relevance to their future aspirations," Kevin said.

The Monash awardees come from seven faculties and five campuses. Two of the awardees are from the Sunway campus in Malaysia bearing testament to the success of the University's education mission.

The seven Monash awardees are:

  • Dr Amy Cutter-Mackenzie, Education, Peninsula campus
  • Mrs Adina Kleiner, Anatomy, Clayton campus
  • Mr Kevin Tant, Accounting and Finance, Caulfield campus
  • Dr Rajendran Parthiban, Engineering, Sunway campus in Malaysia
  • Professor Mark Peel, History, Clayton campus
  • Dr Catherine Yule, Science, Sunway campus in Malaysia
  • Dr Elizabeth Yuriev, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacy.
