“My Master of Public Policy and Management has given me credible postgraduate qualifications in an area relevant to my work. It provided excellent grounding in how to frame public policy arguments – which I now do on behalf of energy companies facing an emissions constrained future. It has also allowed me to undertake specialist work on the National Electricity Market which was essential background for my current role as Executive Director of the Energy Retailers Association of Australia.
“I have recently received the Fullbright Professional Australia-US Alliance Studies Scholarship sponsored by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Through this scholarship at the Univeristy of Texas and Georgetown Univeristy, I will work on a project ‘Reducing emissions while remaining competitive’ from March 2009.
“This has given me a tremendous fillip in mid-year career as it will open professional and personal doors in the US to explore the number one public policy challenge confronting the energy sector in Australia, US and indeed worldwide.”
