Scholarships
Online applications for 2010 Postgraduate Research Scholarships closed on 31 October 2009.
Scholarships are available for eligible full-time postgraduate research students.

Please note that applicants are required to make contact with their prospective department/centre before completing the online scholarship application form. This consultation will help to streamline the application process and improve the quality of application. Assistance provided by staff members includes assessment of the applicant against scholarship admission criteria, improvement of the research proposal, identification of potential supervisors and any other general queries.
Faculty scholarships
The following Scholarships and Awards are offered by the Faculty of Business and Economics each year. Please note that applicants for the 2010 Postgraduate Research Scholarship will automatically be considered for the following Faculty Postgraduate Research.
Scholarships and Awards:
- Faculty Postgraduate Research Scholarships
Stipend (living allowance) or fee scholarships are offered each year. A Stipend scholarship is valued at $20,427 pa (2009). A Tuition Fee scholarship is valued at $20,440 pa (2009).
- Donald Cochrane Postgraduate Research Scholarship
The late Professor Donald Cochrane, a distinguished economist, was founding dean of the Faculty of Economics and Politics (now Business and Economics) at Monash University and held office from 1961 to 1981. Each year up to three awards will be offered to full-time PhD candidates conducting research in any of the business disciplines. This three year scholarship is valued at $10,000 pa.
- Dean's Excellence Awards
Up to ten awards, each valued at around $6,000 pa, are available each year to the top ten applicants of that year. These awards may be held for a research masters for up to two years, and for a PhD up to three years.
