Postgraduate Diploma in Economics and Commerce

This course provides a fourth year of study for students who do not have an honours degree in their chosen field of study.

The course may serve as a prerequisite for admission to a higher degree by research. Students who successfully complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Economics and Commerce with a grade average of 70% (H2A) or above may be eligible to apply for admission to the MPhil or PhD programs.

No credit for work done previously is available in this postgraduate diploma.

Course structure is a combination of core and elective units totalling 48 credit points (equivalent to 1 year of full-time study). For course details refer to the Handbook. A number of Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) are offered each year. Otherwise, the course is full-fee paying.

Applicants are requested to contact the relevant Course coordinator in their proposed department/centre of enrolment PRIOR to submitting their application to the Faculty Research Office in order to discuss their qualifications, research plans and suitability for enrolment in either program.
