Eligibility Criteria1. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS Prospective candidates will be considered for scholarships if they hold a first class honours (H1) qualification or the equivalent. Monash has well established procedures for assessing other qualifications, through its first class honours equivalence process (H1E). If an applicant has qualifications with research experiences equivalent to an Australian first class honours degree, the student’s qualifications may be assessed for equivalence. The following qualifications, for example, require such assessment:

ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY Sound academic English language skills are required for research programs. The Faculty of Business and Economics' requirement for evidence of English Language proficiency if an applicant’s first language is not English, must be satisfied in one of the following ways: Tests Academic level IELTS and TOEFL. Tests that are taken more than two years prior to application will not be accepted.
OR Successful completion of a course of tertiary studies of at least two years’ duration conducted entirely in English and involving formal assessment of written work, in a country where English is the official language. Studies must be completed within the five year period prior to application. Please refer to Monash Research Graduate School website for more information on English Language Proficiency.
