Course transfer
Eligibility
The application process
Semester 2 Intake:
Applications open in mid-April.
Please note that applications for tranfer into courses commencing Semester 2 are for domestic full-fee and international places only.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application as soon as possible after the results release date.
Semester 1 Intake :
Applications open in mid-September.
Please note that applications for transfer into courses commencing in Semester 1 are for Commonwealth Sponsored, Domestic Full-Fee and International places.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application in January/February.
Students must re-enrol into their current course as notification of the outcome of application will not be available until after the closing date for re-enrolment. |
What to submit and where
| Students are required to submit an Application for course transfer. Applications must be lodged at the campus/faculty Student Services Office where the course you are applying for is offered.

Applications received after the closing date will not be accepted.

Criteria for course transfer
Students who have previously met the admission criteria:
International and full-fee local students who have previously met the admission criteria for a Faculty degree may apply for transfer at any stage; there is no minimum number of units that must be completed, and applications may be made for mid-year transfer.
> Commonwealth supported place CSP (previously known as HECS) students who have previously met the admission criteria for a Faculty degree can only transfer when the faculty has CSP places available. This will normally be at the end of the academic year for admittance the next academic year.
Students who have not previously met the admission criteria:
Students who have not previously met the Faculty’s admission criteria may apply for an internal transfer after completing a minimum of 48 credit points (normally 8 units) of study at Monash University. The selection process is competitive, and students are required to meet the Faculty’s criteria for internal degree transfer. There is no guaranteed entry, and students are required to meet the mathematics entry requirements for the degree into which they are transferring.
International and full-fee local students who have not previously met the admission criteria may apply for transfer mid-year or at the end of the academic year. CSP students can only transfer when the faculty has CSP places available; this will normally be at the end of the academic year for admittance the next academic year. |
Accepting and Rejecting your course transfer offer
| Students may accept or decline a transfer offer by formally advising the Student Services Office via email of their decision. |
Appealing rejected applications
| Students may request a re-assessment of their application. |
Fees for transferring courses
| Students undertaking a permanent course transfer will be fee assessed at the commencing rate of the new course relevant to the year the student transfers. For future years of the course, Monash University reserves the right to adjuct annual tuition fees. |
