2008 Commonwealth and University Scholarships

Monash offers a range of scholarships to students undertaking a PhD, DBA or MPhil. Unless otherwise specified, postgraduate awards may be held for a research masters for up to 2 years, and for a PhD or DBA for up to 3 years with a possible 6 month extension. 2008 Faculty Postgraduate Research Scholarships

Around 15 living stipend or fee scholarships are offered at the main central selection round, which closes on 31 October each year. Each scholarship is valued at $19,616 pa (2007).


2008 Dean's Excellence Awards

Up to ten "top-up" awards, each valued at around $6,000 pa, are available each year.


2008 Donald Cochrane Postgraduate Research Scholarship

The late Professor Donald Cochrane, a distinguished economist, was founding dean of the Faculty of Economics and Politics (now Business and Economics) at Monash University and held office from 1961 to 1981. This three-year scholarship, valued at $28,000 per annum (plus allowances), is tenable by a full-time PhD candidate conducting research in any of the business disciplines. Applicants will need to be graduates with first-class honours in a relevant area of business or commerce.
