1. STUDYING OVER SUMMER SEMESTER

The summer semester offers graduate students the opportunity to accelerate progress through their course. When considering this option keep in mind that:

  • pre-requisite requirements for units must be met before you will be allowed to enrol
  • when you submit the Summer Enrolment Form with your chosen unit/s, you are liable for the relevant fees
  • normal change of unit enrolment and discontinuation procedures apply
  • application forms must be obtained from, and lodged with, the Graduate School of Business. You cannot enrol via WES for Summer Semester units

2. DISCONTINUATION DATES

Discontinuation dates have been included in the above table. It is your responsibility to check the unit discontinuation dates with the Faculty/Campus offering the unit. It is your responsibility to discontinue by the applicable date. Census dates will be strictly adhered to.

 

3. EXAMINATION DATES

Please check examination details through WES. If in doubt you should check the examination details with your unit leader.

 

4. FEES

For all full-fee paying students (local and international) the summer semester fees will be the same as for your current course.

 

5. ENROLMENT PROCEDURES

All current Monash students, including non Faculty of Business and Economics students, wishing to enrol in Faculty of Business and Economics summer units must either contact their own graduate course administrator or home Faculty.

Where do I lodge my enrolment form?

Faculty of Business and Economics students must return their completed summer enrolment form to the Graduate School of Business.

Cross campus enrolments

Business and Economics students who are enrolled at one campus and who are enrolling in summer unit/s at another campus must lodge their application at their home campus.

Students from other Faculties must ensure that any summer unit undertaken is approved by their home Faculty and that all unit pre-requisites and course requirements have been met.

Students from other Faculties should return the enrolment form to the student administration office at their home Faculty.

Pre-requisites

It is your responsibility to check and ensure that you meet all unit pre-requisites and course requirements when enrolling or making enrolment amendments.

Please refer to the Monash University handbook for details of unit pre-requisites.

If you are awaiting results for a unit that is the pre-requisite for a higher-level unit, you may enrol in the higher-level unit. The results for the units attempted in Semester 2, 2009 will be released on 4 December 2009. If you subsequently receive a fail grade, you should immediately check your enrolment details, as you will be automatically be unenrolled from your summer unit.

 

6. ENROLMENT BY NON MONASH STUDENTS

Application to enrol in single units (single subjects, non award)

  • Students may apply to enrol in summer semester unit/s on a non-award, full-fee paying basis.
  • Applications are available from the relevant graduate course administrator in the Faculty of Business and Economics.
  • If you are commencing your studies with Monash in summer semester the unit fee will depend on when the unit is offered. You should check this with the graduate administrator.

Cross institutional applications

  • If you are a student at another Australian University you may wish to apply to study units at Monash University during the summer semester. A letter of approval must accompany your application from your home University.
  • Applications are available from the relevant graduate course administrator in the Faculty of Business and Economics.

 

7. COURSE ADVICE

Course advice is available from the graduate course coordinator or from the relevant graduate course administrator in the Faculty of Business and Economics.
