Tourism Planning and Management in Protected Areas

This research area includes tourism impact assessment and management; community attitudes to conservation and protected areas; accreditation / eco certification issues; environmental planning and management; tourist risk management; community participation in tourism planning; and the impact of climate change on tourism. Issues relating to ecotourism and environmentally sustainable tourism; wildlife tourism; cultural/indigenous/heritage tourism; and tourism in natural areas including, but not limited to coastal regions, rainforests, marine protected areas and national parks have been investigated.
