Tourism, Image and Media
Image is a crucial element of tourism, especially as the interface between a destination and possible tourists, and it is increasingly the media, in its many forms, that provides this image. Research in this area includes the relationship between tourism and image, generally termed destination image, though other areas such as image management, decision-making, image formation, tourism marketing, and destination comparisons may also be included. Projects focused on the relationship between tourism and the media include, but are not limited to, film, television, literature, music, websites, brochures, television and film documentaries, newspapers, paintings and guide books.
